Weekly Report (Aug. 5th)

Henlo.

I achieved not as much as I'd hoped last week. Most of the time I had I spent on cataloguing items, and I'm still not entirely satisfied. I feel like I'll have to re-catalogue everything again by the time the demo is finished. Apart from that, I gave equipment to all the characters that exist in the demo as of right now. There are some discrepancies between sprites and items (they can be seen when inspecting characters via clicking on their portrait), but that's what you get when you have character sprites from one place and item sprites from the other. There are some other minor changes, but for the most part, this update focused mainly on items.

Here's the list of changes:

- Started revising the texts for the next stage of the demo - this is rich of me to say, because all I did was just have a look at the next few pages-worth of text and make some adjustments. No translation, no nothing, simply reminded myself of what is to come;

- Made new items - pretty self-explanatory. I needed more items, I prepared more items;

- Catalogued items - like I said, I'm not very happy with the end result, but I'm getting there little by little;

- Gave new items to characters - namely to those characters you encounter in the non-test-area portion of the demo;

- Updated Zondok's stock - I decided to give the merchant straight up all the items that exist in the game as of this day. Plus, I added a cheat button to add money during the dialogue, so it's possible to buy and equip essentially everything there is in the game;

- Tweaked background sprite / time filter image - code and logic were messy, so I attempted to clean everything up;

- It is now possible to hold a key and the relevant button will get clicked automatically at an interval - this feature is quite raw, I implemented it today, so it's glitchy as heck;

- Made some minor changes to various texts and improvements to the UI.

This week I'll polish the key holding feature and then begin working towards returning to the tavern. How much I'll manage to actually implement, I don't know, but I'll try to not get stuck with the texts and actually script the dialogues. Whether I'll be successful at that, only time will tell.

See y'all next week.
